I just found out that there is no recipe for Soleier here at TheFruitAndFlowerBasket. Impossible - a cooking and household forum and no recipe for Soleier? This can be remedied immediately.

First, boil one liter of water with 3 heaped tablespoons of salt, 2 to 3 dried chillies, a sprig of thyme, some peppercorns, two peeled and sprinkled onions, two bay leaves and a teaspoon of caraway. If you want, you can add a dash of white wine.

Let this simmer for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, boil 12 eggs hard (8 to 10 minutes) and place them in cold water to cool them down quickly. Tap the eggs a bit and place them in a large container. Cover with the cooled brew and all spices (make sure that the bent part is covered with the liquid) and place in the fridge or a cool pantry. Leave for at least two days.

Incidentally, the sole eggs are also an original gift for ever-hungry, newly-undressed and cook-inexperienced young adults, such as my two eldest sons. They mainly feed on dessert soups and love these eggs - and eat fries or noodles with ketchup. (If the two were female, their food habits would certainly have given me some sleepless nights!) Well, there are worse things. My Göga likes to eat the Soleier with Maggi ...
