Green asparagus with strawberries

Green asparagus with strawberries: this vegetable does not just look good - it also tastes very good!

I peel the green asparagus at the bottom where it starts to get a little woody. (To see if that's the case, I cut a bit and try it.)

Then I cut the asparagus in the middle, put the lower ends in a pot of boiling water (with salt and sugar) and let them boil for 3 minutes, then add the heads and cook for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, I briefly fry the washed and halved strawberries in a little butter, add green peppercorns (preferably the soft pickled ones from the jar) and then pour the strawberries over the boiled asparagus.

This fits e.g. a fried or grilled chicken breast and some baguette, or as a vegetarian variant of an egg pancake.
