Hair soap an alternative to liquid shampoo

You do not need liquid shampoo for hair washing. It is also possible with hair soap. A small solid soap bar that comes without plastic packaging. In health food stores or health food stores, even in drugstores, there is now a certain selection of hair soaps, made on the basis of various (fragrance) oils for different hair types. The price between 6 and 10 euros seems first high, especially compared to other soaps or liquid shampoo. Nevertheless, I wanted to try it once and bought a hair soap.

Here are my experiences:

First of all, it is a strange feeling to drive over the wet hair with a bar of soap from the hair roots to the tips, but it creates a fine foam that can be distributed just as well as the liquid shampoo. The second foaming also succeeds better. I was very satisfied with the result. The hair looked good, combed and styled well, felt stronger, had more volume.

My hair does not grease very much, I usually only wash it every three days. With the hair soap, the hair looked good after three days, so I could often wait a day longer. However, this "strong" was? Feeling stronger, yes, the hair is fasting at some point almost shabby. This is because we have very hard water and despite thorough washing eventually forms such a lime soap. So they needed another acid? Rinse. This can be done with water and a dash of vinegar or lemon juice or with distilled water from the condenser dryer or with a minimal amount of liquid shampoo. I still had leftovers of liquid shampoo there and distributed a few drops of it after washing with hair soap on the hair (without foaming) and allowed to soak in for a short time and then rinsed out well. The hair now feels soft again after washing.

With the hair soap, I only need to wash my hair every 5 days. That's probably due to the good ingredients. The hair soap itself is very productive (about 30 washes with shoulder-length hair). It does not contain surfactants, silicones, parabens and even palm oil. Now in the cold season this is very convenient. It saves a lot of time and energy costs, which otherwise goes for blow-drying. They are available in different scents, but they do not play a big role as they are barely noticeable after washing. That's just fine with me, so I can determine the fragrance I want to create. I pay more attention to shape and grip when buying hair soap. A block-shaped soap is better in the hand when washing hair than a rounded (which always flies away).

Conclusion:

Mainly because of the practical advantages (less frequent washing, easier to style), hair soap plays with me from now on the main role and liquid shampoo only a minor role. Incidentally, you can also avoid some plastic waste and smacks less chemistry on the head.
