Handrail for small 2-stage household ladder

Who has often complained that when you stand on a small 2-step ladder on the top step, has no more stop?

I've equipped my little ladder with a 3/4 "stainless steel pipe and think it's great, I did not weld the pipe, but slit it open and screwed it on.

xldeluxe_reloaded: I am split between:

For one, the idea is not bad if you just need the feeling of being able to cling to something like me. For me it is enough, if I feel with a finger that there is something. While this would not protect me from falling, on the other hand, my sense of balance is enough to survive on the third level of a stepladder.

Coincidentally, the tip appears exactly one day after I bought a stepladder with high ironing bar at Kaufland for a bargain price. This high bar has advantages and gives all those who are not afraid of heights like me, a safe feeling even on the third stage, because you can also "lean" on the bracket there and reach it with your hands.

That alone is enough to give you a secure feeling.

Therefore, I think the rod idea is not bad for those who are not afraid of heights and need only a "base".

As I said:
With one finger on the wall, I feel safe on a ladder and maybe a pole would have been enough for me.

I also come from the second level without help, be it closet, wall or wall unit not down: I have to hold on somewhere.
