Hard cookies become soft again: aluminum foil & moist kitchen crepe

Many hobby bakers have been annoyed by Christmas cookies that have become hard.

The tip to put apple slices in the can is good, but some do not like the cookies to smell like it. Or, what happened to me already: I found my apple moldy after a relatively short time and was then able to throw away all the contents of the rifle. Since then, I do the following: I put a piece of aluminum foil on the cookies and on it a folded piece of kitchen paper, which I wet well with water. Cover it and it is neither brought in foreign flavor nor mold anything, but the cookies are or remain soft.
