Herb bread for grilling

Time

Preparation time: 10 min.
Cooking or baking time: 30 min.
Total preparation time: 1 hr. 40 min.

Yesterday I had a barbecue with my parents, and since I had no desire for herb baguette, I experimented a little with a ciabatta dough, which I have been using for years.

The result has convinced my parents and me, so I want to share the recipe with you as my very first tip.

ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 1 sachet of dry yeast
  • 1 coated TL sugar
  • 1 - 2 level TL salt (to taste)
  • 1 chopped or pressed garlic bulb (the one toe, or 2 to 3 toes of a garlic bulb)
  • 1 tbsp of dried mixed herbs (fresh or tek would have to go too) and a little bit to sprinkle
  • 400 ml of lukewarm water
  • a good shot (about 30 ml) of cooking oil (I take rapeseed oil, olive oil or sunflower oil, too)
  • 1 pck of herb butter (garlic butter or other barbecue butter also go, with the garlic butter may omit the garlic clove)

preparation

  1. For the dough, mix the flour, dry yeast, sugar, salt, garlic, 1 tbsp of herbs, the oil and the water well with the dough hook of a hand mixer. The dough is rather soft and stays that way. At room temperature, the dough is allowed to go covered for about 1 hour (just "forget" :) on 15 minutes does not arrive) until it has approximately doubled.
  2. Place the dough either on a baking sheet laid with baking paper or, as I have shown (see photos), place the dough in a small baking tray lined with baking paper or a box mold. Can anyone decide how he wants the bread shape or has the possibilities.
  3. Now cut off some slices (about 3 - 5 mm thick) from the herb butter and cut in half. Lightly squeeze the herb bits into the dough (see photo 1). Then lightly oil the surface of the bread (pour some oil into the hollow hand and spread over the surface) and spread some herbs over it.
  4. The bread is now baked in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for about 25 to 30 minutes. (For my current oven (top / bottom heat) I have to bake the bread for 10 minutes at 225 ° C and the rest of the time at 200 ° C, so this can vary.) The result you can see on photo 2 :)

I hope someone tries it out and it tastes as good as us!
