Hilda rolls
Hildabrötchen are my favorite Christmas cookies. They are fruity and stay well juicy with the jam.
ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 125 g of margarine
- 1 egg
- 70 g of sugar
- 1 pck of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- If you like, you can add a grated lemon peel
To fill
- Strawberry jam or another variety of your own taste.
To sprinkle
- powdered sugar
preparation
- Sift the flour, cut the butter into cubes as small as possible, add sugar, vanilla sugar, egg and the pinch of salt, if necessary, to a smooth dough. Let the dough cool for 1/2 hour.
- Then roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface and cut out with a round tray, diameter approx. 5 cm.
- Cut out half of the cookies again with a smaller round shape, so that a donut of the same diameter as the one that creates cookies.
- Spread the jam on the round cake and put the ring on top. Continue with the remaining dough until it is used up.
- Place on a tray covered with baking paper and bake at 175 * C for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- After cooling, dust with icing sugar.
