Hilda rolls

Hildabrötchen are my favorite Christmas cookies. They are fruity and stay well juicy with the jam.

ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • 125 g of margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 70 g of sugar
  • 1 pck of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • If you like, you can add a grated lemon peel

To fill

  • Strawberry jam or another variety of your own taste.

To sprinkle

  • powdered sugar

preparation

  1. Sift the flour, cut the butter into cubes as small as possible, add sugar, vanilla sugar, egg and the pinch of salt, if necessary, to a smooth dough. Let the dough cool for 1/2 hour.
  2. Then roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface and cut out with a round tray, diameter approx. 5 cm.
  3. Cut out half of the cookies again with a smaller round shape, so that a donut of the same diameter as the one that creates cookies.
  4. Spread the jam on the round cake and put the ring on top. Continue with the remaining dough until it is used up.
  5. Place on a tray covered with baking paper and bake at 175 * C for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. After cooling, dust with icing sugar.
