Ice cream machine with or without compressor?

In our comparison, we have tested both ice machine variants (with compressor or with rechargeable battery). The difference is quite simple: A compressor-type ice machine has a self-cooling element already built into the machine. In an ice cream maker with a battery, a container with coolant acts as a cooling element. However, you must first pre-cool the container in the freezer for a certain period of time (stated in each operating manual).

Advantages of ice machines with compressor:

The test recipe: vanilla cream ice cream

Our test recipe for vanilla ice cream has been found and selected from the recipe book by De'Longhi on page 56.


Ingredients for 6-8 servings

  • 200 ml of milk
  • 150 g of whipped cream
  • 150 g of sugar
  • 100 g yolks (about 5 yolks)
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

preparation

Mix milk, cream and 50 g sugar in a bowl. Beat egg yolks with the remaining sugar separately in another bowl until frothy. Stir in the first milk and vanilla sugar in the sweet yolk mass. Allow the finished mixture to cool for 2 hours in the freezer and then place in the ice container of an ice cream maker.

Cleaning:

The non-slip rubber feet prevent the ice machine from slipping so that it stands securely on the worktop. It comes with a multilingual manual. There is also a nice recipe book with over 50 ice cream and sorbet recipes in the packaging. The powerful engine is an important part of the De? Longhi ICK6000. The ice cream machine produces super delicious, solid ice balls and is ready to use. It is not as light and compact as the other ice machines without compressor, but it is high-quality installed, easy to operate and delivers very good ice results! On the whole convincing!
