If you have a tendency to bladder infections: cranberry jam

I'm not a homeopathic freak, but swear in the meantime from several years of experience on jam from fresh cranberries - for prevention and acute problems: In my experience, this helps better than cranberry juices and cranberry pills and is cheaper, much tastier and therefore easier to prevent to incorporate into the diet.

Background: One daughter was always prone to cystitis, which was often to come only with antibiotics. (We even had to have her examined for reflux). When a friend recommended Cranberries to me, I was skeptical, but tried it and implemented it via jam: Full success, and indeed permanently!

As soon as there are fresh cranberries in the autumn, I buy them now bag way (for about 40 euros the 4en us enough for 1 year). I freeze a few bags to the reserve and otherwise cook jams out of jams (see below for recipes). Because of the slightly sour taste, I have "sold" the jam to the children as the "pinecone jam" from the WiWaWuschels;) They have since eaten it with enthusiasm on bread, in quark, in yoghurt or in pancakes. Since the little girl feeds cranberry jam regularly, is resting with the permanent bladder irritation and inflammation. Since then we have never needed antibiotics again! Prevention works.

If said little girl but for a long time with wet swimming trunks sat on a cold stone and then moaning while urinating, we administer her 2 large tablespoons Cranberrymarmelade and after a while again 1 tablespoon. Usually it does not hurt at the next urination - at least a few hours later the spook is over! (I am always surprised how much this helps quickly, and I can not explain to myself how the substances can migrate so quickly from the gastrointestinal tract to the bladder, because otherwise they always eat cranberry jam and already a certain "level" has?) ie Acute treatment works.

1. Here's my "reason" recipe:
Wash fresh cranberries and gently boil them * in a pot as big as possible until all shells have burst. (* Be careful, the cranberries will stain strongly, so leave the lid ajar and wipe off the splashes.)

Then push the mass with the brisk Lotte through the narrowest ** sieve, if necessary add some water. (** Because the resulting bowl rolls do not like the children).

Then boil the mixture approx. 3: 1 with sugar and fill into glasses ***. (*** For the "first aid kit" I also fill a few very small jam jars off, so that they do not take away so much space.)

Durability info: I've never had mold, but at the latest after 2 years our supplies were always used up.

2. You can also add a third raspberries, which does not harm the "healing power" of the jam and tastes well together.

3. For the adults, I cooked a more liquid variant with more sugar and pitu-rum: goes great with sauce on vanilla ice cream (something else than the eternal hot raspberries).
