IKEA kitchen factum - attach wall cabinets
IKEA's "Faktum" kitchen system is a bit of a problem when it comes to hanging up the kitchen cabinets, as they can not be aligned afterwards. IKEA has dispensed with the system in the usual known way to align wall cabinets after assembly.
To ensure that the cabinets hang later straight and aligned, you can proceed as follows:
Measure the height at which the wall cabinets are to be installed. Draw a long line with the spirit level. Drill the entire suspension holes along this line. Screw in screws in advance. Now hang all the cabinets (do not tighten the screws). Align the cabinets one after the other, clamp them with furniture clamps (screw clamps) and screw them together using the supplied cabinet connectors. Go through this with all the wall cabinets one after the other. After ALL wall cabinets have been aligned with each other and fixed with the cabinet connectors, tighten the wall screws. Now all cupboards hang straight and aligned.
Has worked fine with us. Cabinets not only hang straight, but also exactly aligned with each other.
