Illuminated canvas picture

Had recently seen in a furniture store such a similar illuminated canvas picture and thought why buy expensive, if you can do it yourself. Since I still had an old canvas and some black tinting color, I went to work.

First of all, think about some suitable words you would like to have on the screen. I chose Peace, Love, Joy and Hope. Of course you can also write the words in German, why not. I find her shorter in English and more beautiful.

For this you look for a nice font and size on the PC and then prints out. Next, the letters are carefully cut out with scissors and placed on the center of the canvas so that you can see where they fit. Now you start with the first letter, I pressed it well with my finger on the canvas and edged him with black tinting color and immediately withdrawn, the same thing is done with all the letters as shown in the photo. At the end, paint the entire canvas in black and let everything dry well.

For the lighting you need a little string of lights, or you still have a piece of cable with light bulb of an old lamp left over like me. I've got that from an old wall sconce, but it works great with a little string of lights attached to the back frame of the canvas, if it's a bit centered, so that the white letters can shine well (with small screws, or Tacker).

Now your illuminated canvas is ready and you have saved yourself money with it. Anyone who has no other canvas, which is already very cheap to buy, so not necessarily as a huge part, as I have taken, but can also be quiet smaller.

Since I have a black baroque wallpaper on the bed side in the bedroom, the picture fits perfectly in the room. It does not necessarily have to be black, but brighter colors would not put the lighting well in the limelight, because the white knows the screen well out of the black. Unfortunately, I could not take the photo of the lighting better in the dark, I hope you can still see everything well.

Have fun!
