Immediate help against dry irritated cough

Who does not know that, overnight comes the coughing that robs you of sleep! Since I currently have very strong irritant cough and have tried many lozenges and home remedies that alleviate a bit, but do not cause an immediate effect, I've looked around the kitchen and came up with a very common idea!

Since in dry cough (without expectoration) the mucous membranes are dry and irritated, some advise inhalations with saline or chamomile for moistening, which has struck me quite well!

But surprisingly, honey helps me a lot: give some of it in the tea or suck it pure, there is an immediate relief.
Unfortunately, this does not last very long, but it helped me and I found it next to the medication as a pleasant change to suppress the stimulus something.
