Increase humidity in living rooms

In the meantime, I have been more intensively involved with all kinds of means to increase the humidity in my rooms, - out of necessity to constantly suffer from dry mucous membranes and thus respiratory and infection problems. Sore throat finally gone, - after a few days, it starts again from scratch. Even my cats suffer from watery eyes.

I have not been happy with any of the many methods (humidifiers, nebulizers, evaporators, hanging wet clothes, water bowls, plants, and and and), but in my experiments I also found it.

I ended up with something very simple: I sprinkle my curtains with distilled water. That's it. Everything else happens by itself, without all sorts of utensils standing around or hanging and making noises or electricity.

distilled and filtered water because of the lime, which I do not want to have in the fabrics. First I used a normal plant spray bottle - but that was too exhausting for me.

Today I use a pressure spray bottle from the garden market (see photo), which also sprays overhead. When I take hot / hot water, it's even faster with improving the indoor climate. In this way, I easily bring 2 liters of water into a room.

And if I'm getting quite impatient, there are a few sprayers hot (!) H2O directly on the hot heater. This is not ideal, I know, but as acute emergency relief in exceptional cases quite effective.

The curtains gradually evaporate the water into the room - the hygrometer and my respiratory system and my cats confirm: all right!

A pleasant side effect: If the humidity in a good range (between 45 and 60%), I can lower the heating by 2-3 degrees, because the perceived temperature is much higher.
