Inexpensive compost accelerator with yeast

Of course, one can argue that a properly applied compost does not need an accelerator at all, but that's a matter of opinion.

A very cheap compost accelerator is obtained by dissolving yeast (cubes or dry packets) in plenty of lukewarm water and adding to the compost. Most of what you have there contains starchy fibers - a well-fed for the yeast. In this way one finds also still a meaningful task for such yeast, whose expiration date has already expired. It still works enough for this purpose anyway.
