Is it appendicitis?

I've just got an appendectomy behind me. Had I not had these tricks for detection, I would probably have dismissed it just as an abdominal pain, instead of going to the doctor.

He then immediately sent me to the hospital.

For abdominal pain especially in the right lower abdomen you should check the following 2 things:

  1. Does heat less well than cold? If cold is better, it's probably the cecum.
  2. When lying down, pull the right leg at an angle to the abdomen. If that hurts like hell, it's also pretty likely that it's the cecum.

Immediately to the doctor, who then feels. Cecal surgery is fast these days, just three small incisions (instead of one big one) and you get fit after 4-5 days. And once he's out, he'll never be in trouble again :-)
