Juicy orange cake from batter

A watertight recipe for a succulent Sunday cake that tastes great because it's so juicy.

ingredients

  • 250 g butter / margarine
  • 250 g of sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 heaped tsp baking powder
  • Abrasion of a organic orange (I take at least 2 oranges because I love the intense taste)
  • pinch of salt
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • 50 g of sugar
  • Cointreau or other orange liqueur if no children eat

preparation

  1. Beat butter until foamy, stir in the sugar, gradually stir in the eggs and then mix the flour with the baking powder and stir. The abrasion of the orange peel and a pinch of salt.
  2. Put into a Guglhupf mold and bake at top / bottom heat at 180 degrees bake for about 45 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, squeeze oranges and mix with the sugar and, if desired, the orange liqueur.
  4. Pierce the still hot cake from above and below with a pin or a toothpick and drizzle with the organ juice mixed with sugar and Cointreau. Finished.

Modification: You can also add ginger pieces (candied) or orange peel - this gives a special whistle.
