Kaputter zipper in leather pants renew for little money
I recently broke my zipper or the full zipper into 2 parts with my beloved motorcycle leather pants (very thick leather), so that I could not close them anymore. I could not find a suitable new zipper, and the tailors I visited demanded a lot of money for sewing a new zipper into a pair of leather pants.
Now I came up with the idea to buy a sturdy metal zipper (the old one was nylon and very fine) in the color of the old zipper for little money. I have therefore the side edges (right and left side) of the new zipper about 1/2 cm sewn by hand (I have no sewing machine) and put the new zipper with pins "ON" the old zipper and him with "Sternzwirn" (in the color of the new zipper) sewn on both sides of the side of the old "zipper fabric", without I had to stab it in the solid leather pants, which is also very power consuming with a leather needle.
Without much effort and for little money, I now had a new zipper, which holds great.
