Keep crisps crispy longer

To keep crispy chips in the bag longer, you can do the following:

We all know the problem:

Tear open the chip bag, eat some of it, and because you avoid the effort to reweld the bag with a vacuum sealer (assuming the bag material gives this possibility) or seal it somewhat airtight with complicated folding techniques, you better eat the whole contents of the bag before the Chips become lazy because they absorb the humidity of the environment like a sponge.

Provided you do not have the intention from the outset to kill everything in one go, I would have a tip:

Just try to squeeze the opened bag a little so that most of the air is outside (a vacuum is absolutely not required) and attach a plastic freezer bag clip around the bag's collapsed opening as close to the remaining bag contents as possible. You'll wonder how long the chips stay crispy. I can report about "forgotten" bags, the contents of which were still crispy and still edible after 5 weeks.

Incidentally, this also works with bags of nuts, crackers, biscuits, pretzel sticks, etc. You just have to make sure that you do not unravel the bags uncontrollably, so that there is still enough bag material at the top so that the clip can hold together. Otherwise simply transfer to a freezer bag and then close it in the manner described.
