Keep sharp knives in the spaghetti block

A cheap alternative, instead of a high-priced knife block, is this spaghetti block for sharp knives:

Take, one has, a tall vessel, about 10 cm in diameter. Then break off spaghetti at the height of the jar and put it in. But leave a little space, because there are still knives coming in.

So that the very long blades on the bottom of the vessel do not come up too hard, I put a cut piece of foam into the bottom. Now the knives in and ready.

My jar is from Sweden and actually a drip tray for cutlery. You could also take a straight-walled tall vase, or whatever else comes to mind.
