Leather clean and care easy
In our living room there is a silver-gray leather upholstery suite for about 10 years. As everyone can safely think, leather is very hard-wearing and durable, but on the other hand, this very light shade is also quite sensitive to dirt and stains.
So that the set looks good and clean even today, I bought saddle soap after purchasing the upholstered furniture. You can get it from a good shoemaker, even in some good shoe shops, but in any case in specialist shops for riding equipment.
From time to time the couch and armchair are always subjected to a cleaning with the saddle soap. When my husband sits in the armchair in the morning and reads the newspaper, the printing ink spreads on the armrests, leaving ugly traces on a regular basis. Even jeans dye yes known more or less permanently and even these traces of paint are not exactly nice to look at.
This is how I proceed:
For cleaning I take warm water, wet the sponge attached to the soap and rub it over the soap first and then the piece of furniture comes on it. All stains and dirt are thoroughly rubbed off with a little muscle power and soap sponge. The dirt that dissolves, you can see on the sponge photo!
Once this preparatory work is done, I first clean the leather with a clean damp cloth from the soapy water and then everything is dried well.
Finally, after a short drying period, the leather is treated with a damp leather cleaning cloth. These wipes contain a special wax, which keeps the leather supple and gives the surface back the typical matt leather shine.
You can see very well on the individual photos that the leather furniture still looks good and clean after 10 years of daily use.
It is therefore worthwhile in any case, for the leather care to use the corresponding effective means.
