Lye rolls very easy and extremely delicious! Made with Kaiser Natron, or baking soda / baking soda.
ingredients
- 500g flour
- 1 pck of yeast (dry)
- 20-40 g butter or margarine (I take butter)
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 300 ml of lukewarm water
- 3 tablespoons of baking soda / Kaiser soda / baking soda
- 1 L of boiling water

- Making a yeast dough out of the ingredients is the easiest and fastest way to do it in a food processor. Simply mix all ingredients together / knead.
- To double the amount. Here is the "fridge-tip" very good :) Best one night ... then you can in the morning the bread fresh for breakfast bake.
- Then make bread rolls and briefly immerse them in 1 liter of boiling water with 3 tablespoons of baking soda / Kaiser soda (for about 30 seconds). I use this "wooden spoon" with the holes in it ... ladle?
- Place the dipped rolls on a baking sheet (lined with baking paper), slice with a knife and sprinkle with coarse salt. Then bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.
? Tips
- Makes about 6 big rolls or 10 smaller rolls. I always do twice the amount.
- Also always comes very good with our guests and we also like the bread rolls, if we have a barbecue.
- Without being immersed in the lye, they are also great, especially if it is supposed to be for breakfast and you do not like lye cookies.
- Of course you can also make pretzels or sticks.
- The recipe has addictive potential, I have to bake it for a few days constantly for the family! But it is really fast!
