"Magic apple": Mouth-sized apple slices that do not turn brown

I like to give my kids a "magic apple" to school.

With an apple cutter I remove first the core housing.

Then I cut the apple in bite-sized columns, but I cut the columns not completely down through, but only to 3/4, about as deep as in the picture.

If I have cut the whole apple in columns, it is still stable enough to be transported with the bread box without breaking apart.

The children can then eat an apple that has not turned brown during their break.
