Make a baguette yourself

Especially in the summer, we often grilled with friends. We like to eat a cold appetizer with home-made baguette and various snacks.

  • 500 g wheat flour 550 (bakers quality)
  • 230 ml of water
  • 12 g of sea salt
  • 1 cube of yeast (that's a lot!)

preparation

  1. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in a bit of lukewarm water and pour into the bowl, then add the water. Stir everything gently with a wooden spoon, shape into a ball, lightly flour and cover with a kitchen towel for about 20 minutes.
  2. Then, on a floured work surface, gently smooth out to a rectangle, the corners each inside (folding), without much pressure. When all four corners have been folded, lightly rinse again, cover with kitchen towel and let rise for 20 minutes. Perform the procedure a total of 3 times.
  3. After the last go of the dough, make three small baguettes, let it rise for a short time (about 20 minutes), then sprinkle it with water, scrape it with a sharp knife and pour some flour on the dough pieces - this will give you a nice crust afterwards! In the preheated oven (about 20 minutes at 230 degrees hot air (not convection!) Bake.

I also offer homemade antipasti: olives, hot peppers, dried tomatoes, truffle butter, tomato butter, avocado / jalapeno dip. I dip the baguette in lemon-flavored olive oil.

Preparation time in total about 1.5 - 2 hours.
