Make apple chips and apple rings yourself - use apples

Sometimes apples are left over but too good to throw away. Even if they are a bit shriveled, you can still do something with them and almost completely recycle them.

Shrunken specimens become smooth again in warm water. The smooth apples are peeled generously, the bad spots removed.

It is even apple on the shell stay tuned, because it will be made tea later. The only thing that gets thrown away is the core house, the stalk and the blossom.

The whole, round peeled apple is sliced. If you want soft rings, 1 cm thick, for chips slightly thinner. The apple rings come on a baking sheet, as a base baking paper. The bowls are either on a second baking tray or on a grid, on which also lies baking paper.

Both sheets come into the oven, even if you have no convection oven. Then the oven is switched to 50 degrees top / bottom heat.

To get rid of the moisture, it is recommended to use a wooden cooking spoon, which ensures a gap in the door for the necessary ventilation.

Leave the slices in them until they feel dry. The shells remain so until they make clearly audible pops when you break them. Then they stay in a screw jar for a very long time. To make tea, just put a handful in a large cup and pour boiling water into it. Cover it with a lid and sweeten as needed.

The soft rings do not last so long, the chips are dried through very long lasting. If they get softer with time, just put them in the oven at 50 degrees with the door not quite closed. The chips should also be packaged airtight. Incidentally, you can also make tea with fresh apple peel.
