Buchteln not only taste delicious, with a little trick, the pastry also looks great. This flower is very easy to bake and is great as a souvenir.
For a cake mold with 18 cm diameter:
- 250 g flour
- 125 ml of milk
- 1/2 cube of fresh yeast or 25 g of dry yeast
- 40 g of powdered sugar
- 1 pck of vanilla sugar
- 1 egg
- 80 g of butter
- pinch of salt
- Serving ring for cutting out
To bake the flower we need a small baking or casserole dish with a diameter of 18 cm. If you only have larger shapes, you simply take twice as much dough. The yeast is prepared with a little hand-warm milk and a teaspoon of powdered sugar. She has to go 15 minutes. In the meantime, the milk is heated and the butter dissolved in the warm milk. Attention, the milk must not be too hot, otherwise the dough will not rise later. Mix the dry ingredients like flour, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt. Add the lukewarm milk and butter mixture, the egg and the leavened yeast and stir until a lump of dough is formed. Cover the dough for one hour.
After the dough is well kneaded and rolled out on a flour-dusted countertop with the rolling pin. With a Servierring (Ø 8 cm) unplug circles. Half of these dough circles lay on top of each other and then roll up. For the form seven to eight such roles from three circles are needed. Arrange the finished rolls in the mold and let it rest covered for another hour. Then the flower comes into the preheated oven and is baked at 160 ° C for about 30 minutes. After baking, dust with powdered sugar. Tastes fresh from the oven deliciously.
