Make cat grass last longer

Hello TheFruitAndFlowerBasket-Community, this is my first tip, so please understand, if it is not formulated as you are used to by experienced typists. And how I can turn the picture, I have not found out yet :)

My red cat is called Chanel (yes, I know, not exactly a masculine name - ask my daughter who called him that) and has been a happy householder since birth. For pure domestic cats, the supply of grass or a replacement by "* their humans" for the digestion is enormously important.

Unfortunately, the so-called "green thumb" has not been given to me in any way - in other words, plants survive only with good luck. That's why I've been buying and throwing away cat grass every year for years. I then felt sorry for the plant as well as the hangover, which unmotivated rumknabberte on brown stems until I had bought new cat grass.

Since this has become quite expensive in the long run, it has always annoyed me. Then chance brought me to the solution to this problem. When repotting other houseplants, Seramis remained. I happened to buy a new cat grass the same day, this time not the sprouted grain, but the "fine" Cyperus Alternifolius. Of these plant seedlings sold as cat grass in small pots, I bought three and placed them together in a large planter with seramis (below Seramis, middle earth, above again a layer of Seramis). This big pot is now on the ground for months. The grass is also eaten by our cat diligently and still does not enter!

This tip is for those who like me have always bought new cat grass, because this (no matter which variety) with the additional "nibble load" by cats often not long in the purchased plastic pot holds.

I hope for one or the other cat owner this tip is helpful :)
