Make clean holes in leather
Put clean, fringe-free holes in belts, straps, etc. into the leather without much effort? No problem with the following trick:
Grasp a roulade needle or old thin knitting needle with a potholder or glove. Over a lighter or tealight, (candle too, of course) heat the other end to the glow - and stab in the leather. Like in butter.
By moving, determine the size of the hole, if necessary reheat the needle. Rub the created holes with a rough sponge.
Stinks a bit, but is extremely efficient and not as tiring as with the punch (with which you often can not get through, if the leather is too rough).
And like always: Be careful when it comes to fire or heat.
