Make colorful candles with toilet paper rolls yourself

Hello, who now has a lot of candle wax left after Christmas can make very different colored candles.

And so it goes:

  1. A thick cardboard as a base must come from.
  2. Make holes in the cardboard into which the wicks are put and glued. The distance is at least 6 cm (diameter roll 4 cm + distance 2 cm). Attention to the direction of wicking. In the shop, a knot is made at the bottom because the wick can only be burned in one direction.
  3. Now also the toilet paper rolls, on the cardboard with the wick, are glued in the middle.
  4. Wax residues in various cans on the stove plates to melt.
  5. Make a first thin layer in each tube. So you can test if the adhesive keeps tight. Not that it melts through the heat and wax swells out.
  6. Wait a little or more time until the next layer of wax is poured. If there is little maintenance and the wax is still liquid, the colors mix more. If you wait longer, the cast wax is hard and there are clearly defined layers of paint.
  7. Always continue until the roll is full or the wax is used up. Since this takes a while, you can use the z. B. well during a Sunday breakfast.
  8. Let the candle dry well, preferably wait one day. And then carefully unwind the cardboard. It takes a while, but it's worth it.

For several years these candles were a gift supplement, now my children do not like anymore.
