Make decorative roses from egg cartons
A recycling idea that I like very much: make decorative roses from empty egg cartons!
To make 9-10 roses you need two egg cartons. Lids and side walls are also used for the inner life of the flowers.
This is how it's done:
- First, the individual subjects are cut out with the fingers. A pair of scissors is not needed as it would not seem so natural.
- You break the middle of two compartments, where the long divider stands up.
- Now tear with your fingers 4 times all the way to the bottom of the cardboard so that 4 leaves are created. Tighten them until they have a nice natural shape.
- In such a "nest"? comes a bit offset a second shaped in the same way? blossom ?.
- Pull small strips from the lid or the edge of the egg carton and roll them up. This will be the flower inside.
- Connect these three parts with a hot glue gun: the two flower umbels and the rolled inside.
- Now, the flowers are painted in pink, white or red with plaque color and possibly - as with my roses - sprinkled with glitter.
- Maybe here and there a transparent pearl that lies on the leaves like tautrops.
A quick made deco that can be decoratively placed in a corner, on a white wicker wreath, a table decoration on festive occasions or on a beautifully wrapped gift.
For the roses you do not need a long time without the painting and it takes little craftsmanship; So maybe a nice occupation for and with children (without the glue work with the hot glue gun).
