Make mayonnaise yourself in ten seconds

Time

Total preparation time: 1 min.

Make mayonnaise yourself:

ok, only mixing alone takes ten seconds. Providing the ingredients first (if you have everything there) takes another twenty. But either way, things are so foolproof and foolproof that nobody really needs to buy finished mayo in the store. (And let's face it: ready-made mayo does not taste too bad, but what stirs in the industry to make raw egg last for nine months ... you do not really want to know.)

ingredients

  • 1 fresh raw egg
  • 100 ml of vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp medium hot mustard
  • 1 dash of lemon juice
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper

So the tool:

  • 1 hand blender
  • 1 narrow, tall glass into which the blender just fits, down to the bottom.

preparation

Ingredients in the order mentioned (important: egg first) in the glass tilt. Put blender in to the ground. Turn on and then attention - not too hasty, but nice and slow - pull up.

Once everything is nice and creamy, try and season to taste. Or build on this:

The mayo is made into a remoulade by adding a dash of wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon chopped capers, a chopped cornichon and a pinch of chervil (or tarragon) (note: when it's done).
