Make paper glue from milk
How to make a glue for paper from milk - little researchers will be thrilled!
You need:
a pint of skimmed milk
90 ml of vinegar
a pan or pot that is not made of metal - otherwise it will not work.
A frying pan with enamel coating goes e.g. Well! Or a pot of fireproof glass.
Boil the milk with the vinegar until the milk curdles. This is fast, about 4 minutes. Stir, so that nothing burns!
Then pour the liquid through a sieve and pour the solid ingredients into a bowl.
Now measure 60 ml of water and 1 sachet of baking soda. This is mixed with the "cottage cheese".
Now it's blowing bubbles - kids think that's great! When it stopped bubbling, glue was used.
Allow to cool - into a can with screw cap - ready to stick!
This is not witchcraft - the vinegar separates the casein, the solid component of the milk from the liquid, the baking soda neutralizes acidity. The casein dries to a kind of hard plastic - and sticks too!
