Make scratch cards yourself

You need the following material to make scratch-off tickets:

  • Thicker paper or cardboard (color and shape as desired)
  • Piece of paper, what should be cleared.
  • Wider transparent tape (no double sided!)
  • Metallic acrylic paint (available in small quantities in craft supplies or in the hardware store)
  • Some dishwashing liquid
  • 1 brush
  • Container for mixing acrylic paint and detergent (2 parts paint and 1 part detergent)

That's how it's done:

First cut the cardboard to the desired size. The paper that needs to be cleared is glued to the cardboard with the tape, but be careful: leave an edge over the scratching.

Now mix 2 parts of acrylic varnish and a part of detergent. Then, with the help of a brush, paint this color mixture over the adhesive film until the free-rubbing has disappeared under the paint.

Now let it dry. It can be used as a scratch card, or on birthday cards or maybe as an advent calendar. The imagination knows no limits. You can probably use other colors as well, but scratch cards are mostly gray-silver.
