Marzipan cake

On vacation, I found this fantastic recipe for a marzipan cake!

You need

  • 6 eggs
  • 275 g of sugar
  • 500 g of ground almonds
  • pinch of salt
  • Cup of a lemon
  • powdered sugar

preparation

  1. Stir frothy eggs, at least 10 minutes, so that the mass is thick and creamy.
  2. Let the sugar trickle in afterwards. Add a pinch of salt and the lemon peel and then spoonful the ground almonds.
  3. The whole comes in a baking paper designed form (26 cm) and baked at 150 degrees for about 1 hour.
  4. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Without much effort, you have a quickly prepared, totally delicious cake.

The baking process transforms the almonds with the sugar and the eggs into 'marzipan', which is therefore a gold treasure for marzipan lovers.

In the Spanish countries you can find the cake under "Tarte de Santiago".
