This very tasty mince casserole with potato crust is prepared quickly. It can also be well prepared when guests are expected. Then it has only half an hour in the oven and is ready to serve!

Ingredients for 4 to 5 servings

  • 1 kg of potatoes (abundant)
  • 500 g minced meat (mixed with pork or beef)
  • 1 stale bread roll
  • some Milk
  • 2 onions
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • pepper and salt
  • paprika
  • Caraway seed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp spicy mustard
  • 3 peppers (yellow, red, green)
  • about 40 g butter
  • bread crumbs
  • fresh parsley
  • some oil for the mold

preparation

  2. In the meantime, cut the bread roll into small pieces, pour over the hot milk and let it soften.
  3. Peel onions and garlic, finely dice and add to the minced meat, season with pepper, salt, paprika and cumin vigorously, then add the soaked, expressed roll, mustard and egg and mix everything to a soft mass. Wash the peppers, clean, cut into small pieces and mix with the mince.
  4. Brush a casserole dish with oil, then spread the minced meat on the ground first, then add the mashed potatoes, smooth over, sprinkle with bread crumbs and put small butter flakes on top.
  5. The baking time is about 30 minutes at 220 ° C top / bottom heat (or 200 ° C convection) in the preheated oven until the surface is golden brown.
  6. Serve with the parsley and a fresh salad.

Tip: If a remnant is left over, you can warm it up again the next day, possibly sprinkled with some grated cheese, briefly in the oven, tastes almost even better!
