Money Gift Cake

Bake a heart cake and decorate with bills as "candles" - see photo. The cake is great and is actually quite easy to make.

Here is the recipe for this: "Banknote birthday cake". Although a bit complex, but very effective, if you do not just want to put bills in the envelope.

Sheet cake (ideal for making heart cake cakes)

ingredients

  • 250 g soft butter / margarine
  • 300 g of flour
  • Juice and grated peel of a lemon
  • 250 g sugar, pinch of salt
  • 6 eggs (size M) (retain 1 egg white for the glaze)
  • 1 P. baking powder
  • 100 ml of cream or milk
  • Apricot jam and
  • 150 g powdered sugar for the glaze embellishments according to your mood

preparation

Cover the fat pan (about 32 x 39 cm with the edge with a baking paper, preheat the oven to 200 ° C)

Beat fat, lemon zest, sugar and pinch of salt until creamy. Stir in eggs one at a time. Mix the flour with the baking powder and mix in with the cream / milk and the lemon juice. Paint on the drip pan.

Bake the cake for about 20 minutes and allow to cool.

I took two heart shapes to cut out (one is about 20cm wide, the smaller one about 11cm). From the dough you can cut out 3 larger and 1 smaller heart. If the dough should have arched slightly, quiet a smaller sheet, pot or similar. put it on and press it a bit.

After cooling, the hearts are coated with hot apricot jam, then the frosting can be better distributed. Who wants to make a 3-tiered "cake", strokes the 1st heart jam and sets the second big on it. Let's see if it is evenly high, here you can "trick" something, in which one of the dough cuts something cuts and compensates with it, do not worry, the dough holds out.

Let it dry overnight, the dough is super juicy, it will not dry. If you want to be on the safe side, you can now make a "preprint", d. H. one mixes powdered sugar with milk (about 100g) and gives this pour on the hearts.

Let it dry again.

So, whisk up the egg whites and add the icing sugar, either add a little bit of lemon juice, or if you want it to turn white, some milk - but careful, not too much, otherwise the glaze becomes too liquid. Who wants colored font can color it with food coloring. Now carefully and very quickly, it is best to start with the edges and finally distribute the upper layer with a spatula or the like and now put the smaller heart in the middle. Decorate the whole thing to your heart's content with sugar flowers, sugar pearls, wine gum ...

Since I have now made a "money cake", I have previously rolled up the bills tight, tied together with a string and formed of slightly stronger foil aluminum candlesticks. Press down well so you can put it well in the cake.

(As a flame for the sham candles, I rolled up some cotton wool and let it peek out from the top, carefully prying holes in it and pushing in the candle holders.

Now the birthday number. If you can, you can take sugar and paint the corresponding number on it, I just bought a number, cut a circle from a cake lid (with zig-zag scissors) and stuck the number on it.

As a saucer, I took a sturdy box, cut out a correspondingly larger heart with a craft knife and covered it with aluminum foil.

Carefully place the whole thing on it and wrap it with foil.
