Goulash usually means meat. In Austria there is also "mushroom goulash"? - mushrooms = mushrooms. This dish is served with bread dumplings and is very popular. This dish is not only cheap but also suitable for people who do not enjoy eating meat.

For mushroom goulash you can use all kinds of mushrooms. Mushrooms, chanterelles = chanterelles, herb patties ... or a mixture thereof. My mushroom goulash I prepare today with white and brown mushrooms and a herb mushroom.

ingredients

  • 1 kg of mushrooms
  • 1 big onion
  • 1 big toe garlic
  • 1 tbsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup of sour cream (250 g)
  • 200 ml of water
  • Juice of a 1/2 lemon
  • salt

Chilli powder or chopped chilli pepper to taste (if no children are eating). If the children are not allowed to eat paprika, you can also omit this, chopped parsley - then the food is called "mushroom sauce".

preparation

  1. Cut the mushrooms in about 3 mm slices (by the way, I clean the mushrooms with a soft brush.) Do not wash!
  2. Cut onion into small cubes and toast in light brown oil or butter.
  3. Press the toe garlic.
  4. Add the mushrooms to the roasted onion, stir in the paprika and garlic and simmer until the leaked liquid is evaporated / boiled.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over it and mix well so that it does not form any chunks later.
  6. In the meantime mix the sour cream with the water, pour over the dish, salt and simmer until the juice thickens.
  7. Season with a little lemon juice.
  8. If chili is used, add in the first cooking step.
  9. If you like more sauce - take a little more water and flour.
  10. Now the dish can be served with a bread dumpling.

Good Appetite!
