Neodymium magnets - creative use in everyday life
Neodymium magnets are used in industry and craft. Privately, the magnets score in interior design, craft fans and creative people.
What is its specificity?
A special feature is that neodymium magnets are extremely strong, have a tremendous amount of adhesive power. And that in small sizes of a few centimeters. So comes a small square of 51 x 51 x 25 mm for example, an adhesive force of 300 kg. Enormous, what it all can be fixed and held without being glued or drilled.
What can you use them for?
The applications of neodymium magnets are totally diverse. In the automotive industry, for example, they are used for injection pumps, starters or electric motors from windshield wipers to window regulators and boot closures. The entertainment industry uses the powerful magnets to build speakers or headphones. PC and mobile phone producers are hardly conceivable without the magnets. Even the craft has discovered the strong helpers for themselves. For carpenters, they are used as doorstops, in drawers and closet doors, for attaching glass back panels in kitchens and the like.
Neodymium magnets for household and hobby
For me, the neodymium magnets have first been introduced as a souvenir. Attached to the fridge or on the whiteboard, they hold far more than conventional magnets. You can also use it as a magnetic wall mount for kitchen knives or for keys. You can work creatively with the magnets, which are available as slices, cubes, cubes, rings, rods and spheres. Either they are a decoration by their attractive, silver surface, or you use them practically. You can use self-adhesive neodymium magnets to hang photo series, make name tags or close books and folders. Maybe you also burn a lot of waste wood and want to pull the nails out of the ashes? No problem with the super magnet, which comes in different strengths and with which you can stow the children's vehicles, wheelbarrows and other out of the way and on the wall or ceiling.
Permanently delete data medium
In general, magnetic fields must be kept away from data carriers, ie hard disks, debit or credit cards, as this can delete data. You may also want to delete a hard drive to dispose of it. Then the supermagnet becomes a legal aid.
Caution: People with pacemakers should not get too close to the super magnets, as a result of which equipment malfunctions have already been detected.
That makes them stronger than "normal" magnets
Their incredible power comes from an alloy of iron, neodymium and boron. Neodymium magnets lift up to 2000 times their own weight and are therefore also called super magnets.
Beware of too strong attraction
There are moments in life, where a strong attraction can be disadvantageous. When in 2010 a Duesseldorf ordered two strong magnets to hang his two bikes on a steel beam, he was painfully felt this disadvantage. After unpacking, the smaller of the two magnets with an adhesive force of 520 kg was on the table. The man passed by, with the larger magnet and a force of 750 kg in his hand. The smaller magnet was put on immediately, or did he get dressed? However, it was then up to the fire department to free the crushed fingers from the magnets. So, please keep safe distance.
Neodymium magnets are indispensable
When buying a neodymium magnet you can read the safety instructions on the package insert. But do not be scared of that in your creative potential. The magnets are not poisonous, the problem lies in the enormous adhesion, which can be underestimated with larger magnets. Already today every household uses an average of 50 of these magnets? consciously or unconsciously.
