New potatoes with salt crust and different dips

When the sun is shining, you're in for a light meal. Here's a delicious recipe for a quick summer dinner - new salt-crusted potatoes and a variety of dips - that will fill you up easily:

  1. 1.5 kg of new potatoes are placed in a pot, which is filled up to half of it with water. The potatoes should not be covered. Add to that 8-10 teaspoons coarse sea salt.
  2. Cook for 15-20 minutes with the lid closed.
  3. After cooking, remove the lid and continue to simmer until all the liquid has evaporated. The potatoes are now covered with a salt crust.
  4. The remaining salt remains in the pot, the potatoes are not overly salty, but very tasty.

To do this, I prepare various dips, e.g. with salmon and dill:

  • For this, a cup of sour cream or quark with a little milk and oil (variety at will, I have used linseed oil) stirred; It is seasoned with herbs or a bag of Salatfix with dill for cucumber salad.
  • If you are against finished products, season to your taste with dill, pepper, onion powder, wild garlic, tarragon, etc.
  • Mix everything well and chop finely chopped smoked salmon (also with dill rim).

Another variant is a chilli dip with fresh vegetables:

  • Stir the quark or cream cheese with a little milk and season to taste with chilli flakes.
  • Chives, radish slices, small paprika cubes and green onions are cut into small rings. Possibly. Put some slices of cherry tomatoes on for decoration.
  • This dish can be prepared well for a barbecue, but even without meat as a complete healthy meal (apart from the indispensable salt for the potato crust).
