Online application / application by mail
Online applications should only be used if the company so wishes. Please also differentiate online forms and send by mail.
With online forms you should take care to enter your details as correct and detailed as possible, as these are usually evaluated electronically (for example, at some DAX30 AGs)
If you send your application by e-mail, call the Human Resources Department first and ask for the exact e-mail address and phone number of your contact person (to ask after about a week whether the application has been received and the current status of the application To ask things).
Pay attention in case of mail applications also not to send Word documents (with CBF-Brewer or Open Office you can easily convert that to PDF) and your mail should only be in exceptional cases larger than 1MB, so save pictures smaller.
If it did not work out with the job, take all courage, call there and ask for the reasons of the refusal (timely, then you have the chance to find out, whether it was the layout, the content or your qualifications).
