Open cans and close again without a sharp edge

Open cans and close again without much effort and without risk of injury. This is possible with special can openers, e.g. those of Leifheit with the addition "Safety" in the name.

My can opener has two legs and can be used by right-handers like left-handers: One hand covers the thighs, the other turns, no matter which and no matter in which direction. But there are also those with only one leg for right-handed people.

However, one has to say that opening with this opener requires some practice. If you do not open cans often, you can easily get out of the exercise. Then you can get the can on, but the lid or can edge bends.

If done correctly, neither lid nor box will have a sharp edge after opening. The lid can be easily put back on the can and keeps relatively tight.

I once filled the box with candies (a small tomato box) and shook it upside down. The lid stayed on it.

And a second time the can filled with water and shaken upside down. The lid stayed on, but it dripped a bit. So relatively tight, but not waterproof.

Such an opened box is in any case suitable for storing residues of the contents of the can in the refrigerator.

Or also to keep the daily ration of sweets to "Enjoy in small doses".
