Orange liqueur with coffee

This is an old, delicious recipe for orange liqueur with coffee. Unfortunately, pictures are not available.

Ingredients:

1 big orange
48 pieces of sugar cubes
48 coffee beans
1 ½ bottle of wheat grain
1 tall, lockable glass
48 days waiting time

A large orange is brushed thoroughly under lukewarm water. Then it is stung with a small pointed knife into the orange and immediately 1 coffee bean inserted into it. This is repeated 48 times.

The orange-peppered orange is now placed in a tall glass (mason jar o. Ä.), The 48 pieces of sugar cubes and the wheat grain also. The glass is sealed well and placed in a room at room temperature. Now begins the long wait. Occasionally shake the glass well so that the sugar dissolves. If you go through the 48 days, remove the orange, pour everything through a fine sieve and try. The liqueur has a wonderful color and tastes of more!

The liqueur can be easily modified. Several small oranges can be taken. Instead of wheat grain, rum or brandy (cognac) can also be used.

And here is a little variation:

Ingredients:

6 to 8 bananas
48 pieces of sugar cubes
1 ½ bottles of wheat grain
1 teaspoon top ground coffee
1 tall lockable glass
48 days waiting time

Peel the bananas, cut into thick slices or pieces and place in a glass together with the remaining ingredients. Keep well closed at room temperature, shake well several times, so that the sugar can dissolve.

After the deadline, remove the banana pieces (they will not taste anymore, because the delicious taste is pulled out), filter the liquid through a fine sieve. It can also be used a filter bag. Modifications are possible, as mentioned above. The resulting banana liqueur is so delicious that unfortunately it also holds only briefly.

The liqueurs are also delicious over a sundae and as a gift. Unfortunately, they were too short for us. Have fun preparing and tasting!
