Oriental syrup for tea and coffee

Who likes to drink tea, certainly knows the extraordinary Chai tea. With this easy-to-make syrup you can refine black tea, but also coffee and who has tried it once, is difficult to get rid of it.

Also, it is a nice gift from the kitchen, which will definitely be popular with neighbors, family and friends.

It only takes a few ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon clove powder
  • 1 tsp cardamom (as a powder, otherwise crushed in a mortar)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 small ginger root, about the size of a small thumb
  • 250-300 g of sugar
  • 500 ml of water

preparation

  1. Peel the ginger, cut into thin strips and add with the spices in the simmering sugar water.
  2. Simmer over a low heat for 20 minutes until it is syrupy.
  3. The syrup can now be filtered and filled into a clean bottle for more than 6 months.
