Pain relief in toothache

For mild toothache with which one can stand, because e.g. bridging the time until the dentist opens (perhaps because it's the weekend) or being at work can help flush out with salt water.

Dissolve half a teaspoon of salt in lukewarm water and take a sip of it. But do not swallow it, but spit it out again. The salt water in the mouth "push" back and forth (as if you had brushed your teeth) and then spit out.

CAUTION: The pain may be a lot worse than before for the first few minutes, but then the pain should be better to endure.

Has helped me too.
