Peel cucumber - do not spread bitter substances

Who would have thought, even when peeling a cucumber you can make mistakes.

At the end of the cucumber, where the stem sits, there may be bitter substances. If you start with the paring knife first there, it can happen that with the paring knife these bitter substances are distributed over the whole cucumber.

When my "son-in-law" said that, I did not quite believe it. But a friendly chef has confirmed this statement.

Be sure to attach at the end of the flower, or at the stem end a little further down. It would be a shame about the delicious cucumber.
