peppermint syrup

Have harvested the sprawling peppermint on my terrace and cooked it syrup.

  1. Wash the peppermint and shake well dry, then add 2 cups of peppermint leaves without a stalk into a large bowl and add 250 g candy sugar.
  2. Boil 2 L of water with 2 kg of sugar and add to the peppermint bowl.
  3. Add 40 g of citric acid and stir again and again until the sugar candy has dissolved.
  4. Then let it draw for 24-36 hours.
  5. Strain, boil and bottled hot.

Tastes great in the summer in the mixing ratio 1: 20 (50 ml syrup + 1 L mineral water).
