Pillow filling made of fabric leftovers

When patchwork, there are a lot of tiny sections of fabric, from which nothing can be patched anymore. I do not throw it away, but collect it in a box - as a filling material for pillows!

For example, I needed a round pillow for the cat scratching post, so I made two circles cut to size, stitched right to right up to 5-6 inches and jagged the edges. (The latter can also be saved with a seam allowance of at least 1 cm.) Turning, stuffing the filler into it (should be reasonably easy to shake up), close the filling opening.

For this "stuffing pad" sew a nice cover, knit, crochet - done. To make a cover I would definitely recommend, because it can be washed easily.

The stuffing pad takes a long time to dry and may start to stagnate on larger pillows / contents before it has become dry. That's how it tastes (and is not really healthy).

But for the stuffing pillow even the ugliest fabric can still find use or the blouse with the unsightly stains will be given a second life. And our cats have custom-fit pillows in all their favorite places :)
