Pomegranate quince jelly

Christmas dessert - pomegranate quince jelly.

It takes 6 people

  • 3 large quinces
  • 1 pomegranate
  • 1 sachet of red cake
  • Juice of a 1/2 lemon
  • 3 tablespoons sugar, 1 pinch of salt, 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 cup of water

The quinces are halved and peeled. If you have a sore throat, you can suck the seeds - this is a very old home remedy!


The fruits are cut into pieces and cooked soft with the water, lemon juice and the sugar and spices in about 10 minutes.

The pomegranate is peeled and the kernels are released from the pellicles. Be careful, push up your sleeves and tie a towel or apron, otherwise it will look like a crime scene!

In the boiling hot liquid, the sachet Tortenguss is stirred and the raw pomegranate seeds.


After cooling for a few hours in the refrigerator, so that everything is gelatinous solidifies. It does not have to be cut like brawn.
