There are many recipes to make pork steaks a tasty dish. I came up with the idea to fill them in the Greek way. For this I made French fries in the oven and a delicious cucumber salad with yoghurt cream dressing was also there. Of course, in a Greek preparation, a fresh, home-made Zaziki may not be missing. All the ingredients I had in the house and so was the Greek lunch nothing in the way.

I can only recommend the preparation, everything went relatively quickly and without difficulty by the hand and my husband and I liked it very much.

Ingredients for 2 to 3 servings

  • 3 pork steaks (from the butcher or even cut a bag into each steak)
  • 2 mild hot peppers
  • 2 - 3 strips of feta cheese in brine
  • 6 - 8 green olives without stone
  • some clarified butter for frying
  • TK oven French fries for 2 - 3 people

For the Zaziki:

  • 1/4 fresh cucumber
  • 150 g of Greek yogurt natural
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Pepper salt
  • 2 - 3 garlic cloves

For the salad dressing:

  • 150 g of Greek yogurt natural
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Creme fraiche
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • Pepper, salt, herbs of your choice (dill, parsley, chives)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 fresh cucumber

preparation

  1. Chop the peppers and olives and cut the feta cheese into coarse pieces. Now fill the pockets in the meat with the pepperoni-olive mixture and put 2 to 3 pieces of feta cheese into the bag. The steaks are then closed with a roulade needle and set aside.
  2. I put the french fries on a frit-pan and give this for half an hour in the 200 degrees preheated oven. In between, always shake the plate so that the frits get full color.
  3. For the Zaziki, I rub 1/4 fresh cucumber and put the mass on a sieve so that the cucumber water can drain off a bit. I smooth the yoghurt with a teaspoon of olive oil, add salt and pepper, and the 2 to 3 planed or pressed garlic cloves. Finally, the grated cucumber comes to it and the Zaziki can now pull something.
  4. I make the yogurt dressing for the cucumber salad as follows. The yoghurt is mixed with crème fraîche, sugar, lemon juice, salt and pepper as well as with the herbs and also the planed or pressed garlic is added. I have peeled the cucumber in the meantime and I have also planed the onion together with the cucumber on thin slices. Just before serving, I give the salad dressing over the sliced cucumber and the onion, mix everything together well and fill the salad in bowls.
  5. Now I turn the stuffed pork steaks lightly into flour and fry them in the heated clarified butter on each side for about 5-6 minutes, then put down the heat and put the lid on the pan.
  6. Meanwhile, the French fries are ready, they come from the frit pan in a bowl, are salted there and distributed on the plates. Now, the pork steaks are also on the plate, the Zaziki is transferred to a pretty container and is also brought to the table. The bowls with the cucumber salad are also added and then - may be with a glass of Greek wine - to be feasted.
