Today I would like to recommend a very tasty casserole with chicory and cooked ham, a great combination. If anyone feels like testing this one, here comes the recipe.
Ingredients for 4 to 5 servings
- plenty of 1 kg of potatoes
- 500 g chicory
- 2 onions
- Herbs of your choice (parsley, dill, chives ...)
- 1 clove of garlic
- 150 g of grated cheese (eg Emmentaler, Cheddar or similar)
- 300 g cooked ham
- 1 tbsp butter lard
- 250 ml of cream
- Salt, pepper and a little nutmeg
- Oil for the mold
preparation
- The potatoes are washed, peeled and cooked in boiling salted water for about 20 minutes.
- The chicory is washed, cleaned, quartered, then placed in lightly simmering salted water and covered, blanched for about 2 minutes, after which it is discarded under cold water and allowed to drain.
- The onions are peeled and cut into thin slices (rings). Parsley and dill are washed, shaken dry and chopped roughly, the garlic peeled and finely chopped.
- The oven is preheated to 180 degrees top and bottom heat.
- First, the ham is cut into thin strips and fried in a pan in hot clarified butter for about 5 minutes, then dried with kitchen paper.
- In the still warm pan, stir-fry onions, garlic, dill, parsley and 100 g of grated cheese for about 3 minutes, then add the cream and season with salt and pepper.
- The boiled potatoes are poured off, cooled briefly, cut into small cubes (or thin slices), placed in the greased casserole and covered with about 150 g of ham.
- Then place the chicory quarters and spread over the rest of the ham.
- Now the cheese cream cream is poured over it and finally sprinkled with the rest of the cheese.
- Then the baking dish comes for about 30 minutes on a rail in the lower part of the preheated oven and baked golden brown.
Another tip for vegetarians: just leave out the ham.
I wish all who have gotten hungry or hungry, have fun cooking and baking and a pretty good appetite!
