Prepare apple strudel filling properly and freeze

Now comes the time when apples are in abundance again. Especially the early apples are wonderful for apple strudel. Mostly I make strudel with bought puff pastry. But if I do not have the puff pastry case at hand, I freeze the apples mixed with cinnamon, raisins and sugar in advance.

To do this, I'll make the apple strudel fill into a block of the right size (for that puff pastry that's in the roll from the refrigerated counter). If necessary, then the apple strudel filling can be quickly and easily covered with frozen deep-frozen with the dough wrap and then off into the oven with it.
